Have been drawing at the National Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery over the weekend. Thanks to everyone who saw me there for your generous comments!

Chinatown in London last week. Fineliner on acid-free paper.

A street in London's west end. The perspective and the varying level changes add interest to this scene. The horizontal shading represents the brickwork of the building fronts. Fineliner.

A small sketch of the interior of Southwark Cathedral in London.
Fineliner. If I was to draw every line the drawing would quickly become very heavy. It is necessary to find a balance between detail and tone.

Interesting roof detail seen while having a coffee near Piccadilly London

Some thumbnail sketches with a fibre-tip. A good exercise is to try to leave lines out where they're not strictly necessary.
